Little Companion – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how United Logic Tech ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Little Companion mobile application (the "App"). Little Companion is operated entirely by a parent or guardian — children do not create accounts, do not sign in, and do not interact with the App directly. They simply listen to stories the parent selects and plays.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to create a personalized bedtime story and run your account:
- Parent account: your email address, and — depending on how you sign in — a password, or an identifier from Sign in with Apple or Google. You may optionally add your first and last name, number of children, and a profile photo.
- Parent lock PIN: if you set a PIN to lock parental settings, we store it only in hashed (non-readable) form.
- Child profile: the child's name, age, pronouns, and an optional profile photo you choose to upload.
- Story-world details you provide to personalize stories: favorite color, a dream setting, favorite activities, values to highlight, learning topics, topics to avoid, the names of stuffed animals, pets, or companions, and the first names of real-life friends.
- Stories and optional prompts: the stories generated for your child (text, narrated audio, title, and an AI illustration) and any optional 'what happened today' prompt. Optional day prompts are stored only as a non-reversible hash, not as readable text.
- Device information for notifications: a push-notification token and device platform (iOS, Android, or web) so we can deliver story-ready and account alerts.
- Subscription information: your current plan, status, and renewal dates. Payments are processed by Apple — we do not receive or store your payment-card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate personalized bedtime stories — including narrated audio and a cartoon illustration — using the profile and story-world details you provide.
- Run your account, verify your email, and let you sign in securely.
- Send notifications you've enabled, such as when a story is ready or about your subscription.
- Apply safety checks to story prompts and generated stories before they reach your child.
- Provide support and respond to your requests.
- Keep the App secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
3. AI and How Stories Are Made
Stories are created with the help of trusted AI providers. Story text and illustrations are generated using Google's Gemini AI, and the spoken narration and content safety checks are handled by OpenAI. To do this, the story-world details and any optional prompt you provide are sent to these providers only to generate and moderate that story.
Your child's uploaded photo is never sent to these AI providers and is never used to create illustrations. Illustrations are fully AI-generated cartoon-style images that do not depict your child and do not include your child's name, companion names, or friends' names.
4. Children's Privacy
Little Companion is designed to be set up and operated by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old. Children do not create accounts, do not sign in, and do not provide information directly to the App — any details about a child are entered by the parent. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising. We share limited information only with service providers that help us run the App:
- AI providers (Google and OpenAI) to generate and moderate story text, audio, and illustrations, as described above.
- Cloud hosting and storage providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), to operate the App and store stories, audio, illustrations, and profile photos.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications, and our email provider to send verification and account emails.
- Apple, which processes your subscription payment and provides purchase and renewal information.
- Authorities or other parties when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
6. Data Storage & Security
Account data is stored in a secured database, and audio, illustrations, and profile photos are stored in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud storage with restricted access. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including hashing of passwords and PINs and encrypted connections — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to limit access to only what is necessary.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual child profiles or your entire account at any time from the App's settings. Deleting a child profile also removes that child's story world, companions, friends, and stories. After you delete your account, we may retain limited records for a reasonable period where needed for security, legal, or audit purposes, after which they are removed.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage most of your data directly in the App — including profiles, story-world details, notification preferences, and account deletion.

9. International Users
We may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including in the United States, where some of our cloud providers operate. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in these locations.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and may highlight the change in the App. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
